What it is
The tax authority's record of a property, showing its location, description, registered owner and taxable value (VPT), which is the basis of the IMI assessment.
Who needs it
Property owners. It is requested in sales, mortgages, utility contracts, rental registration and inheritance.

Free download from the Portal das Financas.
Does it expire?
No legal expiry. In practice a printout is commonly treated as current for 12 months, and it can be regenerated at any time.
