What it is
The permanent land registry certificate, showing the property's registered legal situation including ownership, mortgages, charges and rights of way. This may differ from the tax authority's record.
Who needs it
Parties to a purchase, sale or mortgage, and anyone establishing the legal position of a property.
Where to get it
Online at predialonline.justica.gov.pt, for a fee, issued as an access code.
Does it expire?
The access code is valid for 6 months from issue and cannot be renewed once expired.
