What it is
A will. Portuguese succession law applies forced heirship rules. Under Regulation (EU) 650/2012 a person may elect the law of their nationality to govern their succession, and that election is normally made in a will.
Who needs it
Anyone with assets in Portugal, including property owners.
Where to get it
A Portuguese notary, as a testamento publico.
Does it expire?
No.
