Atestado de Morada
What it is
A certificate issued by a junta de freguesia confirming residence at a stated address. It may be issued on the testimony of two registered voters of the freguesia or by other legally admissible means, under Decreto-Lei n.o 135/99 art. 34.o as applied to Lei n.o 75/2013.
Who needs it
Used where other proof of address is not accepted, including for driving licence exchange, some AIMA processes and school enrolment.
Where to get it
The junta de freguesia for your area, in person, for a small fee.
Does it expire?
No legal validity period is set. In practice institutions generally ask for one issued within the last three months.
