Documento de Identificacao Nacional (pais de origem)
What it is
A national identity card issued by another country. Portugal accepts a valid EU, EEA or Swiss national ID card for entry and for a stay of up to three months, with no further condition or formality. Beyond three months a residence condition must be met and the CRUE requested at the Camara Municipal within 30 days of that point.
Who needs it

Where to get it

Does it expire?
On the schedule set by your country of issue. It ceases to be valid as an identity document in Portugal once expired; everyone over 16 in Portugal is required by law to carry a valid identity document.
