What it is
The certificate issued by a Camara Municipal formalising an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen's residence in Portugal.
Who needs it
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens staying longer than three months. It is requested within 30 days following the first three months of stay.
Where to get it
The Camara Municipal for your area, in person, with an identity document, NIF and proof of address. The fee is set by the municipality and is around 16 euros at many camaras.
Does it expire?
Yes, after 5 years, after which permanent residence applies.
